Daw Park (hydro pool)

Design Brief: The Daw Park Repatriation Hospital (The Repat) is a South Australian institution. It provides medical care to ex-servicemen and their relatives. Built in 1942 before hydrotherapy and physiotherapy were mainstream practices, the hospital underwent a major refurbishment in 2001 - and a hydrotherapy pool was included.

The pool designers recognised that patients at The Repat were increasingly of an age group that could benefit from hyfrotherapy and a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool was planned.

SWPS was engaged to design and construct a modern and effective water treatment system. We included an advanced Hanovia UV system, Hydrotech filters and Siemens disinfectiom systems.

The Result

At 25m The Repat's hydrotherapy pool is the largest in South Australia and one of the largest in Australia. As a result of its advanced water treatment systems it handles heavy bather loads with ease, ensuring superb water quality for patients and physiotherapists alike.
