Design Brief

Welcome to one of our most challenging projects.  25 kilometres from the shared borders of Western Australia, Northern Territory and South Australia lies the aboriginal town of Pipalyatjara.

Given our experience designing and constructing pools in isolated areas, Statewide Pool Services were enlisted by local and federal governments to build this pool and address the associated logistics.  Strained by budget and the remote locality of this project, a high degree of innovation was required to ensure the successful completion of this vital community hub.  As the photos suggest, the result is striking.

The Result

The Pipalyatjara Pool provides a refreshing respite from the dusty desert landscape, while boosting school attendance levels through the communities highly successful 'no school / no pool' policy.
