Copper Coast Sport and Leisure Centre

During 2014 State Wide Pools were engaged by Council to construct a program pool as an addition to our Community Sports & Leisure Centre, situated in Kadina. The build involved many challenges as the site was being retrofitted to an existing building and surrounding underground infrastructure. State Wide Pool Services managed the project professionally and efficiently and were very responsive to any on site modifications or challenges. The Copper Coast Community has gained a beneficial community asset being widely enjoyed by many. I have no hesitations in recommending State Wide Pools for similar projects.

The most remote pool in Australia.

Over the past four years there has been an excellent relationship between State Wide Pool Services and our three pools at Mimili Anangu School, Amata Anangu School and Pipalyatjara Anangu School.  This has included follow up service, communication with any issues and ongoing maintenance.

Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure

In 2005 when the Premier announced APY Community Swimming Pools, it was recognised that program was extremely challenging, the pool facility was still being designed and there was Anangu employment expectations which had not been resolved

Initially State Wide Pool Services were contracted for the construction of the pool component of these facilities.  A Managing Contractor was contracted to provide the remaining works, security fencing / shade structure, paving landscaping and office plant and ablution buildings.

As State Wide Pool Services Australia provided efficient service and timely delivery of not only the pool component for the Mimili pool, but also the associated fencing, paving etc, these components were added to their contract for the Amata pool.  These buildings were contracted separately.  This contracting model was also utilised for the Yalata Pool. State Wide Pool Services were contracted to deliver all the works for the Pipalyatjara pool.

The pool facilities take considerable logistical planning and organisation.  All materials, accommodation, living facilities and equipment need to be transported thousands of kilometres over remote and often challenging road conditions. There are significant cost risks associated with program delays, which could be caused by a variety of issues such as inclement weather, labour shortages or material delays.  State Wide Pool Services managed these issues in a helpful and effective manner.

State Wide Pool Services, in consultation with DTEI, DECS and the various communities, put together a construction management plan, which ensured the least disruption to the school and community, worked within limitations imposed by the site and maintained high levels of safety in this sensitive environment.

The completed pool facilities have been of high standard and well received by both the Mimili and Amata Communities.

This achievement was due largely to the high level of communication, professionalism and sensitivity of the State Wide Pool Services team.
